Lets Jump Together
Aug 2, 2016, 11:57 am

Can you see yourself?

Liby Dynamites Basketball Club will launch a GAA Basketball program

in the North Louth Region and hope to create strong links between local GAA clubs and Liby Dynamites Basketball Club.

This program is to promote the crossover of skills applicable in both sports for example;

jumping, catching, peripheral vision and hand eye coordination.

A pilot programme in 2012 was launched between Tomás Russells and Mallow Basketball Cork over a 6 week pilot period.

On completion of the six week programme, the GAA participants were invited to join the local Basketball Club which gave them the opportunity to take part in year round physical activity as both seasons dovetail and run consecutively.

Following the successful pilot of the GAA Basketball Programme in 2012, the programme is now being rolled out on a phased basis throughout Cork City and County. Jason Sherlock Dublin and Liam McHale Mayo have represented their country at Basketball and promote both games.

If your club would like to participate in this program please visit our website www.libydynamites.com for contact information.

Over the past GAA season Basketball players from Dynamites have successfully competed with Louth clubs and at  County level.

In October the new Basketball Season will be upon us and players wishing to keep up their fitness levels while learning new skills are very welcome.
